Policy and Regulations

Mission
The mission of the Policy and Regulations committee is to
coordinate the county level development, discussion, review, and comment of
proposed, existing, or necessary policies and regulations of the Department of
Child Support Services (DCSS).

Goals
The Policy and Regulations committee establishes and maintains
both a structure and process for regular and direct interface/dialogue with
DCSS to ensure the Child Support Directors Association's (CSDA) issues and
concerns are fully considered as part of the development and maintenance of
DCSS policies and regulations.

Governance and Organizational Structure
The Board of Directors and designated executive officers appoint
committee members. Appointments are two years each, without term limits,
subject to board discretion.
The Policy and Regulations committee consists of:

Chairperson, who is also a County Director. At the direction of the board of
CSDA, the chairperson communicates with state agencies on behalf of the board.

Vice Chairperson, who is responsible for assisting the chairperson in
organizing general meetings of the committee, disseminating DCSS announcements
for CSDA Director and committee membership review, and preparing committee
comments for the DCSS. The vice-chairperson, in the chairperson's absence (or
as otherwise needed) may serve in the capacity of chairperson.

13 general members, who are assigned to various work projects and serve as
subcommittee chairpersons. General members serve on special project assignments
when the committee's presence is required to participate with anticipated
special state department work groups.

1 from each consortia system lead county

2 from small counties

2 from medium counties

3 from large counties (members selected on the basis of county size shall be
from counties not represented on the basis of interim system status)
Skill, knowledge, and county status of members will reflect CSDA
general membership composition and will include as many varying expertise types
as the board deems appropriate.

General Operation
The Policy and Regulations committee as a body meets at least
once each quarter. The meeting length is limited to one day whenever possible
and will be convened at mutually agreed upon locations.
The chairperson or co-chairperson will be available to attend
the meeting and report to the CSDA board each month or as needed.
