Goals

The Media committee:

  • Assists in the creation of a structure, approach, and mechanisms to ensure that media inquiries about the child support program receive an accurate, complete, and timely response
  • Uses the media (print, radio, and television) as the primary means to disseminate information to increase access to child support program information and services
  • Uses the media (print, radio, and television) to promote the child support program as a valuable service that assists parents in supporting the needs of their children and self-sufficiency of families
  • Promotes increased public awareness, understanding, and strong support for requiring both parents to support the financial, medical, and emotional needs of their children
  • Helps establish a seamless working relationship between DCSS and LCSAs to develop and implement a comprehensive Media Relations program throughout California
