Child Support Services

Child support program services are delivered through 52 local child support agencies. The following services are available at no cost to the public:

locating a parent
establishing paternity
establishing, modifying and enforcing a court order for child support
establishing, modifying and enforcing an order for health insurance coverage

Child Support Application

The Statewide On line Application (SOLA) is the single state approved on line application process. SOLA is an easy, secure, no cost application process. Click here for access to the SOLA.

The process to access the complete "Application for Child Support Services Packet" is unchanged. The documents remain available to download and print by accessing the DCSS website. The completed application needs to be returned to the local county child support agency in your area to be processed. Applications are also available on a walk-in basis at local child support agency offices.

Individuals currently receiving CalWORKS are automatically referred to their local child support agency for services. If you are a CalWORKS beneficiary and have questions about your case, please contact your local child support agency.

The California Guideline Child Support Calculator is based on California Child Support Guidelines and can be used to estimate the amount of child support that may be ordered in your case.

The Court Commissioner or Family Law Judge has the final authority to determine the amount of a child support order. This calculator provides only an estimate and is not a guarantee of the amount of child support that will be ordered. Other factors may affect the amount of child support awarded.
